Museo Sant' Orsola - DAVIDOVICI AND CTIBORSKY: The Rose that grew from concrete - Museo Sant' Orsola - curated by Morgane Lucquet Laforgue

"Davidovici & Ctiborsky have created two works that interact with each other: La guérison des pierres (The Healing of Stones), an embroidered painting, and Fenêtre perpétuelle (Perpetual Window), a fabric window with a gigantic frieze and dimensions similar to those of the existing bay windows. Each work is embroidered on organza fabric, which, thanks to its transparency, allows the space of the old church and its open-air excavations to filter through. Through a play of perspectives, the works offer visitors an alternative view of the site, which appears to be suspended in another space-time where ruins, dreamlike projections, and symbolic imagery intermingle. Like the place that hosts them, the two works require different lengths of time to observe: first to take in the overall view and immerse oneself in other possibilities, then to discover the many details and layers that compose them, and finally to observe the other side of the decor (for the first time, it is possible to see the back of their creations, which bear witness to the complexity of the technique)."
